Global Conflict Resolution

I’m a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I specialize in International Relations.
Substantively, my research examines how countries use public diplomacy tools—such as international apologies—to transition from hostile to peaceful, and potentially cooperative, relations. This agenda intersects with broader themes in conflict resolution, international cooperation, and public opinion. Methodologically, I employ both observational and experimental approaches, conducting cross-national statistical analyses using newly compiled datasets as well as survey experiments.
My work has been published in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics.
I hold degrees in Statistics, International Affairs (with a focus on International History), and International Politics, earned from institutions in the U.S., the UK, and China.
For further information, please refer to my CV (last updated: Jun 2025).
I’m always happy to connect—feel free to reach out for research discussions or other questions.
If we’re attending the same conference, I’d be glad to meet and chat in person.
Upcoming in 2025: Peace Science Society (International) Annual Conference, Orlando, FL

Welcome! I am a Ph.D. student specializing in International Relations and Political Methodology in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I study international cooperation and conflict. At the core of my research is an interest in understanding the role of communication and information in international cooperation, the influence of domestic politics on international conflicts, and the ways that adversaries manage disagreements between them.
